Working Capability of Media Center and Past Experience

Nepalgunj Media Center (NMC) is an organization that produces radio programs for backward, ethnic and marginalized community. This organization aim to disseminate accurate and of both sided information to rural people through simple and available means of communication; radio. This organization is entitled to produce audio and visual sorts of communication materials.

NMC has been producing programs in Tharu, Awadhi and Nepali language since its inception. Till to-date, NMC has produced audio newspaper Kachahari – 1, Kachahari – 2 in Nepali language including Jagriti radio program as well. Likewise, Khyala, Ankhwa, Hamar Saidan have been produced in Tharu language. At present, NMC has been producing the Tharu language radio programs Hamar Geet Hamar Sanskriti, Lauwa Juni Kacherhi and Awadhi language Chaupal radio program. Which are being broadcast through Frequency Modulation (FM) Radio Station. NMC has provided its technique and technical assistance for developing the radio program, drama serial, audio magazine, spot, jingle and PSA.

NMC from its beginning to till now have worked with MS/Nepal, Actionaid Nepal, World View Nepal, Communication Corner, BASE and FNC for developing radio programs as per their objective and requirement providing its whole technique and technical expertise. NMC has produced radio program more than 450 and radio drama more than 200 during its three years tenure. Likewise, different types of Spot, Jingle, and PSA have been produced as well.

Techniques and Technical Capacity

NMC is equipped with soundproof studio, digital recording technique and skilled manpower to operate these all techniques. Likewise, there are skilled journalists and artists available with NMC all the time to produce radio program and drama respectively. NMC has local (of Banke, Bardia districts), skilled artists and director as well, who are well versed in typical local language in producing program in Tharu and Awadhi language in particular.
